Caitlin O’Brien, MPH serves as the Director of Learning and Community Impact at the Scattergood Foundation, where she leads the Foundation’s participatory grantmaking portfolio and works to center community voice in behavioral health philanthropy. She oversees the Community Fund for Immigrant Wellness and provides strategic guidance to the Kensington Community Resilience Fund. She previously led the Overdose Prevention and Community Healing Fund and has managed special grant initiatives focused on harm reduction and grassroots capacity building.
Earlier in her tenure, Caitlin focused on advancing trauma-informed practice across community coalitions in Greater Philadelphia, coordinating initiatives such as the Philadelphia ACE Task Force and the Pottstown Trauma-Informed Community Connection, and co-developing Trauma-Informed Philanthropy: A Funder’s Resource Guide to Trauma-Informed Practice in Greater Philadelphia with regional partners.
She believes lasting social change requires community voices at the table and works to ensure those most impacted by behavioral health challenges help shape the solutions. Caitlin holds a Master of Public Health from the Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health and a B.A. in Political Science and Geography from the University of Vermont.
