Consultant, PGM and Organisational Strategy, UK
I help funders and non-profit leaders in global health develop stronger, more participatory approaches to grantmaking and navigate complex organizational challenges. I have specific expertise in HIV and sexual health, and I’m a trained coach. Over 30 years in the sector, I've worked on both sides of the funding relationship. I spent a decade as a grantmaker at Comic Relief and the Children's Investment Fund Foundation, managing portfolios of over £50m. That experience taught me what works in funding relationships, and what doesn't. Now, as a consultant, I specialize in participatory grantmaking and organizational strategy. My approach focuses on how funders can shift power and strengthen movements. I started as a science teacher with a psychology degree. The work of Paulo Freire opened my mind to social justice, leading me to volunteer in Uganda and then work in UK-based global non-profits.
